On June 4, 2020, Sun Hujun, Deputy Director of Tianjin Municipal Development and Reform Commission, led the relevant staff of Tianjin Italian SME Industrial Park to visit the Beijing office of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA/ICE) and had a friendly meeting with Gianpaolo Bruno, Chief Representative and General Coordinator for China and Mongolia.

The two sides first reviewed the meeting of the Tianjin delegation with Mr. Carlo Ferro, President of the (ITA/ICE), in Rome in December 2019. Sun Hujun introduced the 14th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of Tianjin, the planning of the Tianjin Italian SME Industrial Park, the plan to hold the Tianjin China-Italy SME Matchmaking Meeting in September, and the proposals of upgrading the level of mutual cooperation, expressing Tianjin's willingness to facilitate the ITA/ICE's business in Tianjin. Bruno introduced that the ITA/ICE is committed to promoting economic and trade relations between Italy and other countries and promoting Italian enterprises' internationalization. The Italian side attaches great importance to cooperation with China. He expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by Tianjin to strengthen cooperation with Italy. Bruno hopes that during his term of office at ITA/ICE Beijing, he will actively promote the implementation of the MoU on Advancing the BRI through close cooperation with all parties, including Tianjin, to promote the in-depth development of bilateral economic and trade relations between Italy and China. The two sides agreed to establish a close working mechanism to exchange information, coordinate respective strategies, assist in market research in response to the needs of enterprises, facilitate the participation of national enterprises in events organized by the other side, and promote two-way trade and investment cooperation.
