On the afternoon of May 21, 2021, the Fifth World Intelligence Conference Sino-Finnish Technology Innovation Forum officially opened at Tianjin Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center. This forum brought together more than 100 Chinese and Finnish science and technology elites to conduct in-depth exchanges and discussions on cutting-edge technology fields such as artificial intelligence, 5G, and cloud computing. It is of great significance to strengthen the in-depth cooperation between China and Finland in innovation and technology, accelerate the introduction of Finnish and Nordic science and technology projects, and enterprises settling in Tianjin.

The theme of this year's Sino-Finnish Science and Technology Innovation Forum is "Science and Technology Innovation Builds Dreams for the Future," sponsored by the World Intelligence Conference Organizing Committee, Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone Management Committee, and Junction. At the meeting, the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone Administrative Committee and the Finnish Business Council signed a letter of intent for cooperation in technological innovation between China and Finland.

In addition to the Sino-Finnish Science and Technology Innovation Forum, this intelligent conference will also host roadshows for projects in areas such as driverless driving, the Internet of Things, and big data. At the same time, the JunctionX Tianjin Geek Marathon, Finland's leading science and technology competition brand, will also debut in Tianjin for the first time. More than a hundred college students from major colleges and universities across the country will be divided into three tracks for a 48-hour non-stop application development competition. It plays a vital role in stimulating the motivation, ability, and vitality of college students in scientific and technological innovation.

Today, Tianjin has established a sister city relationship with Turku, Finland, a coastal port city for 21 years. Tianjin and Finland have also accumulated rich cooperation experience and fruitful results in various fields such as port and shipping, economic and trade exchanges, and sustainable development. As one of the essential economic development zones in the Tianjin Binhai New Area, Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone is stepping up the construction of Tianjin Sino-Europe Advanced Manufacturing Industrial Park, building it into a critical carrier for deepening the implementation of the China-EU regional cooperation mechanism, broadening the areas of cooperation. An exchange and cooperation platform for undertaking European advanced manufacturing industry projects, lay a good foundation for China and European countries in advanced manufacturing cooperation.

The successful holding of the China-Finland Science and Technology Innovation Forum has played a positive role in promoting the development of related industries in Tianjin and constructing the China-Europe Advanced Manufacturing Industrial Park. It has also injected new impetus into China-Finland and Tianjin-Finnish technological innovation cooperation in the post-epidemic era. In the future, the bonded zone will focus on Tianjin's "1+3+4" industrial system, relying on the China-Europe Advanced Manufacturing Industrial Park, aiming at the high-end areas of the industrial chain that are in short supply, expanding the regional market base, and promoting the accumulation of capital, projects, and talents, provide strong support for a higher level of opening up and the international cycle.
