Recently, the reporter has learned from the Management Committee of Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone that the State Council has approved the integration and optimization of Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone and Tianjin Port Comprehensive Free Trade Zone into the new Tianjin Port Comprehensive Free Trade Zone. Upon integration and optimization, the Tianjin Port Comprehensive Free Trade Zone will further implement the requirements of the State Council on the construction of the "Five Centers" of the Comprehensive Free Trade Zone, which is of great importance to accelerate the construction of the northern international shipping hub, promote the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, and serve the Xiongan New Area and the construction of the B&R Initiative.  

It is known that a comprehensive free trade zone refers to a special customs supervision area established inland with the function of a bonded port area, which is managed by the customs with reference to related regulations and integrates the functions of a bonded area, export processing zone, bonded logistics zone and port, etc. It can perform services of international transit, distribution, procurement, re-export trade and export processing, etc. It is a special open area with the highest level of opening, the most preferential policies, the most complete functions and the most simplified procedures. Up to today, the number of special customs supervision areas nationwide is 167.
