Developing the low-altitude economy is both a necessary choice for promoting high-quality development in the aviation industry and a strategic opportunity to cultivate new quality productive forces as well. The Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone has consistently regarded the low-altitude economy as a key direction for driving the development of new quality productive forces. In recent years, the zone’s civil aviation industry has grown rapidly, with a strong foundation in the helicopter sector. The CHRDI is responsible for technological innovation, equipment system research, and overall helicopter design, serving as China’s lead unit for helicopter design and technological development. Today, the Free Trade Zone hosts an aviation industrial cluster represented by the Airbus Final Assembly Line and AVIC Helicopter, forming an entire industrial chain encompassing aircraft final assembly, R&D, maintenance, component assembly, parts manufacturing, leasing, trade, training, and exhibitions. In the next phase, the zone will continue to accelerate the construction of the Tianjin Civil Helicopter Industrial Base, vigorously promote the coordination of “industrial chain, value chain, innovation chain, and talent chain,” and achieve high-quality development in both its aviation industry and the low-altitude economy.
