In 2013, Safran Helicopter Engines established a maintenance center in the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone, significantly strengthening its MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) capabilities. The center provides support services for engines such as the Arrius, Arriel, and Makila series that are operating in China. In 2025, Safran Helicopter Engines Tianjin will make every effort to pursue certification as a CCAR-145-compliant civil aircraft maintenance organization. Once approved by the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the company will become the first CCAR-145-certified maintenance unit in China established by a foreign-owned helicopter engine OEM.
