Recently, CSCEC Western Construction (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Tianjin Company”) officially started the construction of the Distributed Photovoltaic Project at Lingang Plant. This is the first photovoltaic project piloted by it. It is understood that the project is expected to have a total installed capacity of 640 KWP, with an average annual generating capacity of 800,000 KWH, which can reduce carbon dioxide emissions of about 816.54 tons every year, equivalent to 1,451 trees to be planted.

Tianjin Company is a wholly-owned subsidiary established in Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone by CSCEC Western Construction Co., Ltd., a domestic leading comprehensive service provider of building materials industry, specializing in ready-mixed concrete and related business. Tianjin Company set up four plants: Lingang Plant, Jinnan Plant, Xiqing Plant and Hangu Plant. Among them, Lingang Plant, established in 2011, is located to the south of Changjiang Avenue and to the east of Bohai 16th Road in the Lingang Economic Area, a core area of Tianjin Binhai New Area, covering an area of 43,000 square meters.

Lingang Plant is the first fully enclosed environment-friendly mixing station in Binhai New Area, and also the first green, environmental, low-carbon and zero-emission concrete production base in Tianjin. Built in accordance with European and American design and construction standards for concrete plants, it is a modern, environment-friendly and garden-style plant integrating the production system, material storage system, logistics system, sewage and resource comprehensive utilization system, environmental beautification system, office and living system and other basic facilities.

In the context of the national “double-carbon” strategy, green development has become the footing stone for enterprise transformation and development. Tianjin Company has always insisted on thoroughly integrating the concept of “ecological priority and green development” into the whole development process including production and operation, sped up the transition to green production mode, won “Green Demonstration Plant of Ready-mixed Concrete Industry”, “Three-star Green Production Ready-mixed Plant” and other honors in succession, and gotten certificates such as “Green Building Materials Product Certification” and “Green Power”.

“Green production is an inevitable requirement of the transformation of the concrete industry, and is a key measure for concrete enterprises to obtain competitive advantages and sustainable development.” said Liu Cong, assistant general manager of CSCEC Western Construction North Co., Ltd., and manager and general counsel of Tianjin Division. “Lingang Plant followed the ‘double carbon’ strategy, and in early this year, actively piloted and started the distributed photovoltaic power generation project. After the completion of the project, the photovoltaic projects will be extended to the other three plants.”

To make good use of green power from photovoltaic energy, Tianjin Company will, with the spirit of “decisive battle in the beginning and sprint from the starting point”, continue to promote the building of the company's green manufacturing system, play a demonstration role of fanning out from point to area, and lead the green transformation of the concrete industry in the Zone.
