According to the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone Administrative Committee, recently, Tianjin Qinghong New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Qinghong New Energy), a subsidiary of Lingang Holding, formally delivered 16 double-bottle hydrogen fuel cell forklifts to Tianjin Bohua Yongli Logistics Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Yongli Logistics), which were the first batch of self-produced and self-used hydrogen fuel cell forklifts in Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone.

It is understood that this batch of double-bottle hydrogen fuel cell forklifts use the industrial by-product hydrogen produced in Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone as their power source, carry the hydrogen fuel cell engine system developed by New Hydrogen Power, an enterprise in the Zone, use the vehicle body manufactured by Hangcha Group, serve the application scenarios provided by Bohua Yongli Logistics, use core parts solely from enterprises in Tianjin Hydrogen Energy Demonstration Industrial Park, have hydrogen storage of about 2.4 kg each, can be refueled within about 5 minutes, can continuously work for about 10 hours and can reduce carbon emission of about 240 tons per year.

The hydrogen fuel cell forklifts delivered this time were the first batch of hydrogen fuel cell forklifts locally produced and applied in Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone, mainly used for the daily handling of solid finished products and semi-finished products in Yongli Logistics Park, for the break bulk loading and container gate in during domestic and foreign trade, and for the installation, assembling and disassembling of spare parts in cooperation with Yongli Chemical. They will replace the original internal combustion engine forklifts and promote the realization of the goal of carbon emission reduction, efficient production and resource recycling. Meanwhile, a complete hydrogen energy demonstration application system of “car-station-gas-scene” linkage will be set up in cooperation with the hydrogen source terminal in Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone.

In recent years, Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone has actively implemented “double carbon” strategy, accelerated the cultivation of new quality productive forces, witnessed the formation of a perfect whole industrial chain of hydrogen fuel cell core technology in Tianjin Hydrogen Energy Demonstration Industrial Park operated by Lingang Holding, and invested in Qinghong New Energy which has been committed to building a hydrogen energy vehicle operation platform, a hydrogen supply and marketing platform and a supporting service platform, put the first batch of hydrogen energy heavy trucks in Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone being into operation, and obtained the hydrogen sales qualification in succession.

As a key area for the layout and development of hydrogen energy industry in Tianjin, Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone adheres to the concept of “Party leadership and joint creation”, and on the basis of energy resources and for the purpose of demonstration application, promotes the landing of core industries. The Hydrogen Energy Demonstration Industrial Park of Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone is home to more than 40 enterprises including New Hydrogen Power and Hangcha Group, covering the whole industrial chain of hydrogen production, storage, processing and transportation, etc. Next, Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone will constantly improve the layout of the whole hydrogen energy industry chain of “production, storage, transportation and processing”, accelerate the transition of traditional energy into green and low-carbon energy, strive to create its leading advantage in hydrogen development, drive the development of the whole hydrogen energy industry chain, facilitate the comprehensive construction of Binhai New Area into a demonstration area of high-quality development, and help Tianjin to build itself into a new highland of green and low carbon development.
