Focusing on Port-Industry-City integrated development, Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone will, relying on the foundation of the petrochemical port industry, expand the hydrogen energy industry, build a hydrogen energy demonstration park, and form a whole industrial chain of hydrogen production and processing, etc.

Located in Lingang Area of Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone, the Project Phase II is mainly engaged in the extraction of the surplus hydrogen produced by Bohai Petrochemical in the production process and supplies it to the other enterprises in the Hydrogen Energy Demonstration Industrial Park in Free Trade Zone, including hydrogen fuel cell R&D enterprises and industrial gas enterprises such as Air Liquide.

The Hydrogen Energy Demonstration Industrial Park of Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone is home to more than 40 enterprises including New Hydrogen Energy, New Hydrogen Power and Hangcha Group, covering the whole industrial chain of hydrogen production, storage, processing and transportation, etc. According to the head Han Yuhui, this Industrial Park is also an expansion of the Free Trade Zone, relying on the advantages of Lingang petrochemical industry. As a large number of products from chemical enterprises need to be transported outbound, more than ten petrochemical enterprises has gathered in Lingang, and a lot of surplus hydrogen will be produced in the production of products. Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone takes a fancy to the gathering of hydrogen energy raw materials here, and will expand the Lingang industrial chain and develop the hydrogen energy industry.

In the first quarter of this year, another 45 hydrogen heavy trucks and 16 hydrogen forklifts were put into operation in Lingang Area, mainly to transport cargo for settled-in enterprises such as Bohai Petrochemical. These vehicles were all jointly developed and manufactured by the enterprises in the Hydrogen Energy Demonstration Industrial Park. At present, Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone is also laying out more refueling points to facilitate the refueling of transport vehicles. This year, the Free Trade Zone will also, focusing on the hydrogen energy industry chain, introduce global enterprises manufacturing hydrogen storage, transportation and refueling equipment.
