Recently, Tianjin Yunyao Aerospace Technology Co., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as Yunyao Aerospace), an enterprise established in Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone, has passed the business access review of China Meteorological Administration for its Yunyao series satellite obscuration profile products. This is the first social observation data product passing the service access evaluation of meteorological data products by the China Meteorological Administration since the issue of Administrative Measures for the Access and Withdrawal of Meteorological Data Products.

Obscuration observation features the advantages of high precision, high vertical resolution, all-weather availability and global coverage. The products can apply to numerical forecasting, assist in short-term and imminent forecasting of strong convective weather such as hail and lightning, and provide support for forecasting weather modification operations and atmospheric pollution diffusion conditions. Ocean, atmosphere and space weather products constitute three major types of products of the Yunyao series satellite obscuration profile. The products have been tested and evaluated by the Earth System Numerical Prediction Center of the China Meteorological Administration and the National Meteorological Information Center, with all indicators satisfying the requirements for business applications.

The data products of Yunyao Aerospace eligible for related services will be used to create a meteorological data application service ecology primarily based on application scenarios as well as high-value data products and services, coordinate the value and safety protection functions of meteorological data, and facilitate government departments and society to play a better role in disaster reduction and efficiency improvement.
