Tianjin-Weifang High-speed Railway Jingu Haihe Tunnel Successfully Completes

  •   Recently, it was learned from China Railway Design Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “CRDC”), an enterprise in Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone, that after 25 days of efforts, the water exploration work of Jingu Haihe Tunnel of Tianjin-Weifang High-speed Railway, which was surveyed and designed by CRDC, was successfully completed with the joint collaboration of staff and "Haishengda 16" exploration vessel.


      Tianjin-Weifang High-speed Railway is an important part of the national medium and long-term railroad network planning "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railroad network, the line starts from Binhai Station, which is an underground station, designed to be tunneled across the Haihe River after leaving the station. The Jingu Haihe Tunnel of Tianjin-Weifang High-speed Railway is 6.66km long, and the water exploration hole of Haihe is only 70m away from the Haihe Tunnel of Tianjin Binhai New Area Central Avenue, making it an important and difficult project of the whole line.


      The Jingu Haihe Tunnel of Tianjin-Weifang High-speed Railway is a large-diameter shield urban tunnel located in Tianjin Binhai New Area. The tunnel crosses or parallels the planned metro Line B3, Line B1, Line B2 and several street crossings, with complex spatial relationships and numerous interfaces for various types of projects. By performing system design for general plan, longitudinal section and cross-sectional drawing design, CRDC has coordinated the horizontal, longitudinal and cross-sectional relationships of various engineering projects on "one map", optimized the spatial layout of various structures via integrated design, so as to achieve the optimal project as a whole. Meanwhile, CRDC has carried out studies on key tunnel technologies such as large diameter shield tunnel crossing active fracture zones in soft soil areas, large diameter shield tunnel crossing municipal road interchange deformation control in close proximity, as well as urban tunnel construction in high intensity areas in conjunction with project characteristics.


    In the preparation stage of exploration, the Geological Exploration Project Department of CRDC has organized a special handover meeting on safety, quality, environment and other requirements, refined safety management measures and emergency plans, made detailed water exploration plans for exploration holes separately, instructed exploration personnel and site managers to be divided into two groups, adopted 24-hour continuous operation for production organization and supervision, and performed water drilling in an orderly manner.


      With regard to the current COVID-19 epidemic, the Geological Exploration Project Department of CRDC has developed an emergency disposal plan for COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control, organized daily epidemic investigation at the construction site, intensified body temperature monitoring of workers, established a health monitoring ledger of site personnel, and equipped sufficient protective masks, disinfectant alcohol and other epidemic prevention materials to ensure that both epidemic prevention and control and operations are undertaken normally at the site on a regular basis.


      Up to present, CRDC has completed the exploration of 12 holes covering 981.5 meters in Jingu Haihe Tunnel of Tianjin-Weifang High-speed Railway. Subsequently, CRDC will further reinforce the control of safety and quality progress on site to ensure the safe, high-quality and efficient completion of the supplementary survey work of other sections of the Tianjin-Weifang Railway and contribute to the high-quality construction of the Tianjin-Weifang High-speed Railway project.
