Recently, as the large semi-submersible carrier FORTE equipped with the A5EA module of the Canadian LNG (liquefied natural gas) project slowly departs from the Qingdao Site Terminal of Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd., an enterprise in Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone, marking the successful departure of the first core process module of the world's first integrally built LNG plant built by China.
　　It is reported that the total voyage of this transport is approximately 5,170 nautical miles and is scheduled to arrive at the project site in Kitimat, British Columbia, Canada at the end of February for installation in place. According to Zhuang Hongchang, LNG Project Manager of Canada, the module mounted on the ship consists of three main decks, with a height of more than 13 floors and a weight equivalent to nearly 4,000 passenger cars, placing high demands on the design of the loading technology scheme, the operation of the Self-Propelled Modular Transporter (SPMT) and the command capabilities. In the process of ship loading, CNOOC has broken the unfavorable conditions of previous LNG projects where international companies dominated the ship loading work. For the first time, CNOOC has designed the SPMT ship loading technology plan independently and completed all the core work such as SPMT operation and command independently, completing all the ship loading operations efficiently in less than three hours and achieving the target of positioning accuracy of less than 5 mm, and the efficiency and accuracy of ship loading have both reached internationally advanced level, which also indicates that CNOOC has fully mastered the core technology of large LNG module SPMT ship loading and accumulated valuable experience for subsequent module loading operations.
