China Railway Design Corporation helped with the smooth closure of the main arch of the first bridge-station combined long-span steel box arch bridge in China

  • Recently, the main arch of Shenzhen Huangmugang Traffic Hub Overpass, the first bridge-station combined long-span steel box arch bridge designed by the enterprise of Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone, China Railway Design Corporation (hereinafter referred to as CRDC), has been successfully closed. The bridge is designed as a doublecableplane singleridge steel arch bridge structure, with a main span of 125 meters and a total length of 289.9 meters. The piers and abutments are directly supported on the roof conversion beam of underground station structure. It is the first bridge-station combined long-span steel box arch bridge in China.

    It is reported that the CRDC design team completed the design of the SPMT module for the rapid demolition of the fourstorey large overpass at the upper subway station in 2019, creating the “speed in Shenzhen” for the demolition of the fourstorey overpass in nine days. In addition, they completed the preliminary design and the design of construction drawing of more than 11,000 square meters of dredging bridge across the hub foundation pit in only one and a half months.

    At present, the construction of Huangmugang Hub Bridge has entered a critical period, and the CRDC design team will make active cooperation in the last spurt before completion.
