Recently, the reporter learned from the Management Committee of Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone that from January to May this year, the commodity sales at the harbor port of the Free Trade Zone reached 224.9 billion Yuan, a year-on-year increase of 146%. The harbor port trade in the free trade zone showed quick growth trend, including 10 leading enterprises with a trade scale of 10 billion such as Amer International Group and Xiamen International Trade Holding Group Co., Ltd.

The reporter learned that the harbor area of Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone has the berth of more than 30 quays with an annual throughput of more than 20 million tons in 2018 while the settlement amount dominated by domestic trade is only 2 billion Yuan a year. In order to change the long-term state of “port without trade” in the harbor area, the free trade zone proposes to build a port trade platform. The Harbor Port Economic Development Bureau breaks the idea of inherent investment attraction and makes full use of the port resource advantages to introduce more than 10 of the world's top 500, more than 30 of China's top 500 and private top 500 in just three years. It has not only realized the transformation of commodity sales from 2 billion Yuan in the whole year to 200 billion Yuan in the half year, but also realized a new leap from a single domestic trade to both domestic and foreign trade. Foreign trade has quadrupled in three years, enabling the “second take-off” of Tianjin Port Free Trade zone.

The relevant person in charge of the Harbor Port Economic Development Bureau of the free trade zone said that the total commodity sales in the harbor area of the free trade zone is expected to create a new high of 500 billion Yuan in the whole year. They will also continue to give play to guide and cultivate new driving force as the core role of high-quality development, and increase the efforts of investment attraction of key projects in combination with the high-quality port resources, natural ecological coastline resources and land resources in the port area. We will continue to expand the port trade platform in the port area, make a good start in the 14th five-year plan, and provide strong support for a higher level of opening to the outside world and the dual cycle of domestic and international trade.
