Recently, completion acceptance was made officially for the first-stage construction of the ecological restoration project of the north coastline of Zhonggangchi in Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone (harbor area). The coastline was dressed up as a beautiful and unique scene by blue sky, green trees and waves.

The first-stage construction of the ecological restoration project of the north coastline of Zhonggangchi in Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone (harbor area) is located at the neritic zone of mudflat at the southern side of estuary of Haihe River at the portal of Beijing and its surrounding area and the northern side of Gaoshaling port area in the harbor area of the free trade zone.

Before the implementation of the restoration project, construction waste and domestic waste often exposes at the beach at low tide, which not only affects the beauty but also deteriorates coastal marine ecological environment. In addition, due to the poor overall ecological function of the coastline, the breeding sites of birds, fish and benthos have been destroyed, and the original nearshore aquatic bird habitat has almost disappeared.

In order to timely improve the ecological environment along the coastline, Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone started the first-stage construction of the ecological restoration along the coastline officially in August 2020. The construction standard of the project is to meet the Centennial plan of prevention against the tide for 200 years and prevention against the wave for 100 years so as to ensure the life safety of the mass.
