Spud in! The span of the ballastless track cable-stayed bridge with hourly speed 350 kilometers ranks first in the world

  •   Recently, after orderly overall promotion and active construction preparation of the water drilling platform, the first pile of the main tower of the cable-stayed bridge over Dongping watercourse of Foshan super large bridge was successfully drilled for Guangzhou-Zhanjiang railway project contracted by China Railway Design Group Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as China Railway Design), an enterprise in Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone, marking the official opening of the construction of the main project of the cable-stayed bridge.

      The main span of the cable-stayed bridge across Dongping waterway is 350m, which is the first span in the world among the ballastless track cable-stayed bridges with a speed of 350km/h. The main span of the bridge adopts open steel box girder +precast prestressed bridge deck composite girder, the side span is prestressed concrete box girder, and the structural and stiffness transition section is set between the side span and the main span. The main tower of the cable-stayed bridge is "A" shaped tower, and the height of the double tower is 149 meters and 147 meters respectively. Dongping waterway is a class II waterway with dense navigable ships. The construction water depth of the main tower is about 17.5m with adoption of "dumbbell" cushion cap. Each tower has 40 pile foundations with a diameter of 2.2m. At the same time, the bridge is located in the secondary protection area of drinking water, with high requirements for water quality and environmental protection.
