Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou Railway Bridge: The largest Span of Cable Stayed Bridge

  •   "Jiaojiang super large bridge has a large span, complex structure and great technical difficulty. Many difficulties were overcome during the design and construction of the bridge, and many technological innovations and breakthroughs were achieved. The successful closure of the bridge is of great significance, as it has opened up the key node of the whole Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou Railway." According to Zhang Lei, chief engineer of China Railway Design in charge of bridge projects, Jiaojiang super large bridge, as the last key and difficult controlling project of Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou Railway, has the four characteristics of "deep, high, new and difficult". In the process of construction organization, they faced many adverse factors such as tight construction period, frequent tides of Jiaojiang River, large tidal range and velocity, frequent typhoons, long rainy season, great construction difficulty, and high safety risks. As the general contractor, China Railway Design innovatively optimized the main truss form and the aerodynamics of the pylon shape and overall dimension during the design process by using scientific and technological means. During the construction process, it realized several technical breakthroughs and innovations such as the hoisting and assembling of the large segments of main beam, the pushing of the large segments of side span, the suspending and assembling of the large segments of main span, and the synchronous construction of the pylon and girder. The bridge adopts the super long pile group foundation design with round ended bearing platform and quincunx layout, and the maximum drilling depth reaches 143.6m. This is the deepest pile foundation of railway bridges in China at present.
