For a long time, Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone has been making use of the advantages of the seaport and airport, continuously optimizing the trade structure, building more high-quality online foreign trade platforms, expanding the port trade platform in the Harbor Area, vigorously developing new forms of international trade, enhancing the trade level, and promoting the development of the trade industry to both ends of the "smiling curve". In the first quarter of this year, the sales volume of commodities in the Zone reached RMB 209.01 billion, with a year-on-year increase of 113.2% and presenting the five major characteristics of obvious driving by formerly existing enterprises, remarkable investment invitation result of trade platforms, strong growth of bulk commodity trade, quick recovery of consumer market, and stable leading position of e-commerce. Among them, the formerly existing enterprises contributed 70.4 percentage points to the growth, and the 88 projects introduced in the last two years contributed 42.8 percentage points to the growth. Among the bulk commodities, the sales volume of metal materials and products reached RMB 114.72 billion, which contributed 73.9 percentage points to the trade growth, and the sales volumes of petrochemical products and coal and products increased by 89.8% and 72.2% respectively. In the first quarter, the total retail sales of social consumer goods increased by 34.6% year-on-year, and basically returned to the level of the same period before the epidemic. In the first three months, the total number of cross-border e-commerce orders was 4.717 million, accounting for more than 70% of the total number of the whole city, and showing the stable leading position of e-commerce.
