  • "The 'Deep Sea One' energy station was built and delivered on January 14. On January 19, towed jointly by three high-power towing ships, the station departed from Yantai, Shandong Province, and finally arrived the target position in Lingshui sea area after passing Yellow Sea, East China Sea and Taiwan Strait." Liu Kongzhong, deputy general manager of the Lingshui 17-2 Project Team of CNOOC, told the reporter that this was the first long-distance towing of 53,000t deep sea oil and gas production equipment in China, and there were many challenges such as complex sea conditions, great movement amplitude during towing, and collision risk in parallel towing by several ships. For these challenges, Offshore Oil Engineering organized a professional towing team consisting of senior experts in China, established a sea and land integrated emergency security system, studied the towing plan repeatedly, identified and mitigated the potential risks one by one, organized emergency drills for 19 possible extreme circumstances such as bad weather, broken towing cable and out-of-control ship, and worked out a corresponding emergency plan for each potential emergency.
